After 2 days travelling through the south of France we arrived in Andoain, 20 minutes south of San Sebastian, Spain. We were immediately welcomed with Basque hospitality. It was wonderful to be reunited with Los Wesnos Hurtado familia. We had a lovely meal with them and an exchange student which we hosted in Nelson 2 years ago and his family. It was awesome to catch up with Ander and his mum and dad, Jon and Cristina. Staying with the Wesnos family there is much laughter, talking and of course mucha comida!!!! It is very much "your house is my house" as 5 of us have moved in. A treat for us was going to church and being able to sing Spanish songs similar to when we lived in Venezuela. Lots of memories. Due to having a lot of South Americans in the congregation after the service they sold "pintxos" (tapas) as a fundraiser. To our delight the "pintxos" were empanadas, which we adore. Tonight we are with Ixiar, another student who was with us in Nelson. We are still here having lots of coffee and great times!
