Rome

Buonasera! Our journey began with a dangerous drive with our rental through the dark and narrow streets of Rome. Our hotel was ideally located within walking distance of the Colosseum and the Pantheon. Gabrielle became our new tour guide and with ease using the river as a reference guided us around the beautiful city. Discovering Trastevere was wonderful and buying the Roma Pass saved waiting in all the queues. We had 2 great days of marvelling at the sights and of course eating lots of pizza. It was fun posting cards from the Vatican post box. We hunted hard for a sighting of the Pope but the Pope-mobile was nowhere to be seen! Ciao
